'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Evans 'we will be changing formation'

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans was delighted with his sides win this afternoon against Burton Albion.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the game the Millers Boss said, 'We asked our players to go out and win the game on commitment and passion and we`ve got that little thing called ability in the box. I thought some of the football was outstanding today although we need to retain possession more and be a little bit more ruthless when we get in the final third.

'There were one or two players in there who were a bit below where they normally are so it`s a good sign when we can win as handsomely as we did.'

Saying that the first goal was definitely a penalty, Evans said, 'There was maybe a question about issuing a card but maybe you shouldn`t ask for that in the opening minutes of a brand new season but it was a clear cut penalty which Nards (Daniel Nardiello) sticks away and no goalkeeper saves that one. The second goal came from some great football played in the build up where we carved and opened them up and how good was the big mans header? And, I thought we`d done that with the third one as well.

'I thought the flat back four and the shape worked well and half way through the second half we changed it. We are going to play all different shapes and permutations depending how we feel our players are performing and I don`t know why the opposition scouts are watching us because we will be chopping and changing.`
