RUFC - Millers still looking for striker

Rotherham United are still in the market for a new striker and it seems that Chief Operating Officer, Paul Douglas is speaking to one club at the moment while Manager Steve Evans says he is still waiting to find a left-sided defender who is right for the club.

'I want someone who is more of a left-back but who can also deputise at centre-back, ' the Millers boss told MillersPlayer. 'But, as I've said before, I won't add to the squad and wage bill unless it's someone who can improve on what we've got.

'For me there is no timeline on a signing, though obviously if it's to be a permanent signing then it has to be before the end of the month. But, if I'm being honest, then I'm prepared to go through this week without giving it to much thought.'

Meanwhile Evans is pleased that his team have been drawn at home in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy first round against York City saying, that with it not being too far away York will fetch a fair few fans.

The game will take place the week commencing 3rd September.
