'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View from the Opposition - Northampton

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans thought his side were unlucky not to come away with something from Sixfields last night after losing to a goal five minutes from time.

Not unsurprisingly, Northampton Town Manager, Aidy Boothroyd hailed his side's display and told BBC Northampton that he thought his team were worth the win.

'It's certainly the best performance since I've been here,' the former Mansfield Town player said speaking about the first thirty-five minutes of the game, 'we had the commitment, the work ethic and made some terrific decisions and outfought them in the centre of the pitch while playing and passing fantastically well. The only thing I'm disappointed about is that we didn't score three of four goals.

'Rotherham are a good side and I knew they would come back at us but it was disappointing that their goals was from a counter attack of our set piece but we'll work on these things. In the second half they were the stronger team for twenty-five minutes but, when teams want to dominate us we have that ability to score on the counter attack because we've got some very quick players now.

'The only thing is now that we don't get too carried away. We can enjoy it but we know we have a very difficult game on Saturday.'
