RUFC - Nardiello disappointed not to get anything

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says that the team has to learn to cope with the fact that they are favourites for promotion this season.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser after losing to Northampton on Tuesday night, Millers Boss said, 'The mass celebrations there told you what their fans thought of the result and we need to take it on the chin and let them celebrate. We`ll commiserate but we`ll bounce back.`

Striker Daniel Nardiello said, 'We know we`ve been made favourites for the league and that a lot of teams will want to beat us and show what they can do and we need to be prepared for that kind of match every week.

'We`ve got a good squad here and we`ve got to be prepared to go into every match giving it our all. At Northampton we created a lot of chances, played well and got into good positions but just couldn`t score a second goal. Then they managed to get a chance at the end and it killed us off.

'We were disappointed not to get anything because we did enough to win the game and were the better team but if you don`t score then things like that happen.`

Going back to last Saturday`s win over Burton Albion at the New York Stadium it was the twenty-nine year old who scored the first ever league goal at the ground. 'It was a really proud moment,` he said. 'I didn`t take any keepsakes away from the match just the memories - and I`ll always remember that goal.`
