RUFC - Evans thought Kayode had outstanding game

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans is happy that there is competition for places at the club.

He spoke to MillersPlayer about striker Kayode Odejayi saying he thought he had an outstanding game, again, against Northampton Town. 'He was against two big tough, dominant, ugly centre-backs and I thought big Kay went toe-to-toe with them. But, we thought the heat of the battle had just come down a little touch and we needed to someone with a different ability level so we brought Revs (Alex Revell) on.

'I also thought that Gareth Evans came on and looked like the Gareth we know rather than the Gareth we saw at Hull who I thought was poor.'

Asked about the player that Chief Operating Officer Paul Douglas was talking to earlier in the week, the Millers Boss said, 'Well I think we are still talking but the comment from his club was 'not at this minute in time'. So, we'll ask again tomorrow.'

I've got to say that I thought Kayode had another good game on Tuesday night, and, actually, I'd like to see him and Revs start a game together. I also thought when Gareth Evans came on he did OK too. But, I'd still like to have seen Lionel Ainsworth on.
