RUFC - Evans talks about his goalscorers

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans spoke about his goalscorers this afternoon after the four-nil win over Bradford City at the New York Stadium.

Speaking about the first goal from Michael O'Connor, which was a stunner, the Millers Boss said, 'He's such a talented player and what a goal and what an outstanding display and performance he gave us but I can say that about most of my players today.

'I worked extremely hard to get Michael in the summer but we had to be patient and he came here on the back of a hernia/groin operation and we knew that it would be towards the end of August, beginning of September before we'd see the 'real' Michael. We saw him play sixty-five minutes today but then he got sloppy because he got tired.'

Going onto Ben Pringle, the Millers boss said, 'Ben Pringle is an outstanding talent. You have to love him and give him the ball and have to accept that he's going to give it away and sometimes 'do your head in' which you have to live with to get the talent out. David Noble, Michael O'Connor and Gareth Evans are the same and are going to frustrate the backside out of all of us on certain weeks but on other weeks they are going to win matches.

'Gareth Evans is a big game player who could have moved to the Championship this week but, thankfully I've got a good chairman. He should have got a hat-trick and he knows that but you can't complain when he gets two against his old club.'

Fantastic goals today - great atmosphere. What more can you want?

South Yorkshire Bragging Rights Go To The Millers

Rotherham United's fighting spirit did them well this afternoon after they came from one down in the first half to win the South Yorkshire derby with Doncaster Rovers two-one - but boy, did they leave it late!

Joe Mattock was back in the starting line-up for the Millers with Michael Ihiekwe, who had replaced him last week, nowhere to be seen. Rovers also made one change with Ben Whiteman replacing the injured Luke McCullough.

It was a scrappy start to the game and although Rovers
