'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Evans 'Millers fans are Magic'

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says that the Rotherham fans are 'magic`.

After witnessing the fans` enthusiasm for the New York Stadium the Millers Boss wants them to keep the noise coming - but not only during the good times. He needs it through the bad times as well.

'The singing from the start against Bradford on Saturday was outstanding,` Evans told The Advertiser. 'They are incredible and we need that support.

'There are a lot of grounds you go to, Bradford is one, where, if you settle the game after fifteen minutes, their fans turn on them. We don`t want that to happen here. Even on the bad days we need them to stay with us.`

After losing in the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy on Tuesday night I`ve heard some Rotherham fans starting the 'doom and gloom` moaning and pulling certain players in the side down. Now, I know, as a paying customer, you have a right to voice your opinions (and, believe me I`ve moaned and groaned along with the others in the past) but come on, after seeing some of the best football from a Millers side I`ve seen for some time, let`s give them the benefit of the doubt that this was a 'one-off`. I can`t be doing with the supporters who get on players` backs. It doesn`t do the player or the team any good.

So let`s carry on singing for the Millers, come rain or shine - and let`s up the sound at Vale Park tomorrow afternoon.
