RUFC - Evans to dabble in emergency loan market?

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans is expecting to be busy this weekend.

Yes, he will be busy taking his side to Port Vale but he is also expecting to be busy looking at the emergency loan market, which opens tomorrow. (Ed Note - No, I didn`t know it had closed either!)

Speaking to the Yorkshire Post the Millers Boss said, 'We will be busy this weekend but not necessarily getting someone in for Saturday. We believe, unless you are really struggling, you have to be playing and training with the team to feature.

'It`s about adding quality. When I started using phrases like 'continuous improvement programmes`, people thought I was working at ICI and not Rotherham United. Every day I look at games and players and the opportunities to bring players in and I keep asking myself and my staff if they will improve us and are they better than what we`ve got. We need to find ways of continually improving as that`s what others are doing.`

Evans wasn`t impressed with some of his players on Tuesday night and threatened that they could be finding themselves available for a loan move themselves, though that could have been a gut reaction to the first competitive loss at home.

The Millers have had problems with injuries to their defenders since pre-season and brought in Craig Morgan on Monday on a short contract deal then promptly lost Mark Bradley to an Achilles injury on Tuesday night. Luckily both Dale Tonge and Nicky Hunt came through the best part of a reserve game on Wednesday and either one or both could be ready for a first team place as early as tomorrow.
