RUFC - A Plea from a Fellow Miller

Rotherham United fan, Danny Brailsford, has a plea for fellow fans regarding Manager Steve Evans.

Millers boss Evans has received a six-week football stadium ban for an incident that happened while he was still Manager of Crawley Town and the club, and Evans, have put out a statement saying 'Rotherham United acknowledge the decision of the FA today and will work closely with Steve Evans to ensure the penalty imposed does not affect our objectives for this season.

Steve Evans has issued the following statement: 'I am very disappointed by the decision, however for the good of Rotherham United I accept the verdict and will move on with no further comment.''

Danny, who some of you may know from his involvement with the Rotherham United Nostalgia Society and others simply by being a big Millers fan, is asking other Millers to show their support for Steve Evans and says, 'It appears that our Manager is being penalised for something that happened while he was the Manager of Crawley Town.

'We all saw the fracas when Crawley played Bradford in March last season but how often do similar incidents happen at other grounds but don't get reported? It seems to me that, once again, Steve Evans is being punished for the person he is reported to be.

'I have met Steve on numerous occasions at various events and functions and have always found him to be very friendly, sociable, helpful and a thoroughly nice guy.

'I expect him to get even more abuse from other teams' supporters over this incident and feel that we, as Rotherham United supporters, should do our bit by showing our Manager that we are thoroughly behind him. After all, he is showing us that he is doing all he can for our club and surely we should be giving him our full support when it's needed.

And that time is now.

Up The Millers

Danny

As it stands Steve will miss the games against Torquay, Rochdale and Oxford at home and Barnet, Accrington and York away.
