'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Why the change of team?

Rotherham United were without a few players this afternoon in their one-nil win over Torquay at the New York Stadium.

True to his word, Manager Steve Evans said he would 'tweak it` after the performance last weekend against Port Vale.

Laurie Wilson was left out of the team with Assistant Manager Paul Raynor saying, 'I think Laurie was disappointed with his own performance last week. You don`t get substituted after thirty minutes when you`re having a good game. He knows that he let himself down and was disappointed. But, he has had a little knee injury that he`s been carrying for a couple of weeks but, before, we`ve not been able to utilise Dale Tonge because of his injury problems. So, the first chance we`ve got to use Tonge and rest Laurie and his knee we`ve done it.`

Kari Arnason came back from international duty with Iceland with an ankle injury and Steve Evans said, midweek, that he was less than a fifty-fifty chance to play today. 'We`re keeping our fingers crossed for Tuesday night. He took a nasty knock playing for his country but he`s a quick healer. They took him all the way to Cyprus when we`d have preferred him to be here getting treatment.

'We missed David Noble who was out with a virus today as well. He hasn`t trained for over a week now and he`s been laid really low so we will have to wait and see but I think it`s highly unlikely that he`ll play on Tuesday.

'But, we live in hope and we`ll see how they all are tomorrow.`

Hmm that wasn't what I'd been hearing about David Noble but let's hope, if it is a virus, he's soon on the mend.
