'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Shearer 'we're chomping at the bit'

Rotherham United goalkeeper Scott Shearer has echoed what everyone else thought when the game was called off on Tuesday night by telling The Advertiser`s David Beddows that it was frustrating.

'We went there after a very good win,` the Millers shot stopper said, 'and the spirit was high but the ref had no choice.

'These things happen in football and it`s always annoying. The fans made the journey which costs money and it was disappointing for everyone concerned. All we can do now is go back over there next time and get three points.

' We've not had consistency of winning two on the trot so that makes it frustrating too but we can still go for that at York tomorrow. We`re champing at the bit and we've been putting it in on the training ground.`

Saying that he sharper now than he was in the earlier games, the thirty-one year old says he is enjoying being with Rotherham and said, 'Me, Andy Warrington and Andy Dibble (Millers goalkeeping coach) are working hard in training every day and you are starting to see the fruits of that. The save on Saturday was one of my best and it couldn't have worked out any better because if we hadn't have won then there wouldn't have been any justice.`
