Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says that it is essential that defender Johnny Mullins gets some first team football under his belt.

Speaking after the former Stockport County player has moved to Oxford on a three-month loan today, the Millers Boss said told the Official Site, 't was essential that Johnny Mullins started to play some first team football and with what we have available to us now, and what we might have available in the future, it allowed us to let Johnny make this move.

'We will be monitoring his progress there with interest.'
