'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Raynor satisfied with point

Rotherham United`s Assistant Manager Paul Raynor was satisfied with a point from the game with York City this afternoon.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the goalless draw at Bootham Crescent Raynes said, 'It`s a difficult place to come to and we`ve got an away point.

'I thought it was evens-stevens in the first half, although I did expect a little more from us in the final third and we gave the ball away too cheaply. We made a change at half-time to try and get Lionel (Ainsworth) on the ball more and we thought we`d create problems which he did and he opened the game for us. He probably should have got himself a goal which is disappointing because, in training, he`s a composed finisher. On the balance of things in the second half we were probably unlucky not to come away with three points.

'We did create openings and Gareth Evans had a few cross shots and Lionel and Ben (Pringle) in the first half got in good areas but probably gave it away a bit cheaply for somebody of his quality.

'I thought York were only going to hurt us on the break and it`s not a criticism of them because they played some neat and tidy stuff first half. I think anyone watching would think we were the more dominant side in the second half and but for a lapse of concentration and a mistake we could have gone on to win the game.

'We know we need to improve in certain areas but if we can keep winning our home games and picking up valuable points away from home then we`ll not be too far away.`
