Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says 'Thank You' to the fans who travelled to York City yesterday.
Speaking on his usual Gaffer On Sunday article on the Official Site the Millers Boss said, 'Our supporters both home and away have been incredible and are more than playing their part. They know this is a new squad but they also know it is a talented one.
'For us as the team we need that level of support for us to deliver them the ultimate prize, together we will be successful.'
The official away attendance at Bootham Crescent yesterday was one thousand, five hundred and ninety-six - although we do know that there were some Millers fans who had managed to get in the home end yesterday after York made it all ticket for away fans on Wednesday morning. I also fail to understand why the tickets for the away end had 'seat numbers' on them - when there are no seats. It caused a fair few problems for people who thought they were sitting in the three hundred or so seats that are put away for away fans at this ground. I also think it was a bit of a problem to see so many Millers fans stood in the 'yellow no standing area'. The stewards didn't seem to be even trying to move them on although they did fetch the Police to an elderly gent who thought he was in the seating area and when told he wasn't he proceeded to sit in the standing bit. On the other hand, I don't think swearing at the stewards, who are only doing a job, is very fair.
