RUFC - View from the Opposition - Southend

Rotherham United's Assistant Manager was unhappy, to say the least, with the performance the team put out on Saturday against Southend saying it was 'woeful' while Boss Steve Evans who watched via a video link as he served the last of his six game stadium suspension said, 'It was awful from start to finish and there was a distinct lack of effort.'

But Southend Manager Paul Sturrock told SouthendUnited.com that he was pleased with his side.

Speaking after the three-nil win over the Millers Sturrock said, 'I think it showed today that we've got some quality players in our side. We kept our shape while the front two caused mayhem.

'We can be brilliant but there is a bad side to us as well but fortunately today we showed the good side

'We were disappointed with last season and we've restructured this team and they are a very young team but are learning quick and they've shown today that they are ready for a challenge.'

We were awful, we were lackluster and it was woeful and it needs to be sorted. In the Yorkshire way we all left shaking our heads on Saturday muttering 'summets not right`. It`s up to the management team to 'make it right` this week in training and in the behind closed doors game with the Owls.
