'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Evans 'It Was Unacceptable'

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans has been joking (well we think it`s a joke!) that he will miss his weekends languishing on the beach in the Caribbean now he`s served his ban and will be back in the dugout this Saturday. But we all know he`s missed it, really!

Though, I rather suspect he was pleased he wasn't there on Saturday to witness the worst display of the season by his team and admits it was 'shocking`

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser the Millers Boss said, 'I left the safest job in British football to come to Rotherham and the day before I left I was offered a ten year contract by Crawley. Tony Stewart (Chairman) understands the expectations here and so do I and it is good to have his backing.

'If Saturday was a one-off then I`ll be happy with that but I don`t want it to be a two-off. It was unacceptable. My teams have taken beatings before and they will do again but never have I felt as sick to the stomach as I did at 5 o`clock on Saturday.

'We let everyone down and we certainly owe our travelling supporters a good performance tomorrow and it`s essential we go to Aldershot and play with the spirit and commitment my teams normally play with.'
