RUFC - Boss Delighted After Win

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans can have only been delighted at his team today as they beat Aldershot three-nil to get their first away win of the season.

The Millers Boss, back in the dugout after a six week stadium ban, made six changes for the game today with Kari Arnason, Alex Revell, Daniel Nardiello, Dale Tonge, Andy Warrington and loanee Lee Frecklington all starting.

Speaking after the win to Radio Sheffield, Steve Evans said, 'Today we showed effort and ability and it could have been many more if we had taken our chances. People will know how much the Chairman, myself and Paul Raynor hurt after last weekend, I saw the fans were hurting because they saw a team, which is my responsibility, that lacked effort. I swore to myself all week that the changes would be emphatic and I asked the boys to train with the intensity that we wanted. We aren't going to tolerate a performance like last week and if anyone is unhappy they can leave, no matter who they are.`

Speaking about the game today, the Gaffer said, 'From a management point of view it was disappointing that we went in at half-time only one up. But, saying that, we`d have taken a workmanlike one-nil win today.

'We need to concentrate on working as hard as we can. We`ve got good players here but they aren't good players if they don`t work hard.'
