RUFC - Evans 'Nardiello Is A Good Player'

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans rewarded striker Daniel Nardiello with his second start in three days tonight and the twenty-nine year old repaid the Gaffer by scoring the two goals.

Millers fans have been a little frustrated of late with the striker being either left on the bench or left out of the squad altogether and have been questioning why he`s not been playing.

'Daniel Nardiello is a good player,` the Millers Boss said after the win tonight, 'but he has to be fully fit. When he`s got little niggles or he`s not quite focused enough he`s not the same player.

'I just didn't bring him in because I suddenly woke up and thought I`ll go with him and someone else, I brought him back in because he started to show me on the training ground that he was ready to play.`

Admitting that perhaps the first goal was a trifle lucky, Steve said, 'I think we were unlucky with the penalties not given. I think there was a stonewall penalty in the first half and I think there was a stonewall penalty in the second half. And we didn't get them.`
