'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Evans 'Three Big Points Today'

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans didn't think the Millers played anything like what they can play like this afternoon as they beat Plymouth Argyle three-nil at the New York Stadium to send them up to sixth place in League Two.

'It was a big three points for us today,' the Millers Boss told Radio Sheffield. 'We didn't play well but we were camped in their half for ninety minutes and the goal came from a great finish from a young man who works extremely hard.

'I thought Jake Cole made three wonder saves in the first half and I'd like to have a look at Kari Arnason's goal that wasn't given. The referee says it was a foul by Nardiello on the goalkeeper but I'm not quite sure he's got that right but we didn't get a lot today.'

Kieran Agard might have got the goal for the Millers, which I think we were all thankful for, but it was a great piece of work from Daniel Nardiello in the first place that got the ball to Agard.

'I told Nards that I thought he was a different player in the second half,' Evans said. 'He was moving the way we know he can move and his creativity was a feature for us today. We took him off because he was absolutely on his knees for the last few minutes.

'I think there is momentum at the club now both on and off the pitch and I won't kid ourselves and say we've been emphatic winners today but we've been solid winners. I think they've only had one chance mid-way through the first half with a header so you've got to say it's a commanding performance.'
