'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Striker Longing For Start

Rotherham United`s goalscorer on Saturday Kieran Agard hopes that he has proved himself to Manager Steve Evans.

The twenty-three year old, who joined the Millers from Yeovil in the summer, probably hasn't featured as much as he`d like to have done yet this season, his twelve appearances mainly from coming off the bench.

But, it could be that after getting the only goal of the game against Plymouth to help move the Millers into a play-off spot, Evans might think twice about the lively striker.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star, Kieran said, 'Of course you want to be playing but if you are a substitute and get a chance then you try and go on and make an immediate impact. And I`m always confident that I can score and I hope the manager can see that. I want to get in the team and prove that I deserve to be there.'

The manager certainly saw the delight on the youngsters face after scoring on Saturday when he ran straight to him and they high-fived.

Kieran knows he has to be patient with the Millers having a number of strikers on their books at the moment but the goal and his enthusiasm won`t have done his cause any harm at all.
