'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Evans Not Getting Carried Away

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans isn't that naïve to think that getting three wins on the bounce is enough to make his team Champions come the end of April.

The Millers supporters are suddenly singing everyone`s praises down at the New York Stadium but the canny Scotsman knows that his side might equally not get a point from their next three league games - and as a famous person once said, 'football is a funny old game`.

'We`ve got nine out of nine,` the Millers Boss told The Advertiser, 'and we are capable of getting twenty-one out of twenty-one. But we`re also capable of not getting another point in the next six games.`

In fact, the Millers haven`t lost since Evans came back from his stadium ban which a lot of Millers fans think is the reason the team of started battling again - although, to be honest, if I hadn't played well and knew I was going to get a rollicking I`d rather get it over and done with straight after the game than have it hanging over my head until the next time I met the manager.

'If I get them working and as focused as what they've been since I've been back on the touchline then we will win more than we lose.`

It`s a break from the league this weekend with Stevenage coming to the New York Stadium for the first round of the FA Cup and the Gaffer says that the Millers deserve a good cup run.

'This town and the Millers fans deserve it after the historic problems they had had following the team they love until Tony Stewart stepped in and our objective tomorrow is simple - we want to be in the second round.`
