RUFC - Evans Praises Players

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans could be thinking of sending a 'thank you` note to Darren Ferguson this evening after the Peterborough Boss allowed double goalscorer Lee Frecklington play for the Millers in the FA Cup game against Stevenage this afternoon.

I thought the twenty-seven year old played his heart out today and then capped his performance by getting two goals although the Gaffer didn't quite see it like that, telling Radio Sheffield, 'I didn't think Lee Frecklington was the difference between the two sides today.

'There were a number of outstanding performances and our two strikers (Alex Revell and Kayode Odejayi) really put a shift in today and I think it`s the strikers that separates the teams today.

'Their strikers are excellent but I think Odejayi and Revell have dominated their back two, who are as good as they get in League One, and that was always going to be a test.

'Yes, Freckle gets the headlines because he get the goals but I think he`d be the first to say it probably wouldn't be as easy out there without Kari Arnason.`

Steve Evans brought in Jamie Devitt from Hull on Thursday and he was thrown straight in this afternoon by being given a start with the Gaffer saying, 'He`s only had two training sessions with the lads but I thought he was excellent this afternoon but was just running out of gas near the end.`
