RUFC - Revs 'Standards Gone Up'

Rotherham United striker Alex Revell says that the 'standard` has gone up as the Millers look to going up to fourth at five o`clock tomorrow.

Speaking to The Advertiser the twenty-nine year old said, 'Sometimes, as promotion favourites, you think you have the God-given right to just go out and win but since the Southend game you've seen a different work ethic and everyone knows what we`ve got to do to get results.

'Even in training the standard has gone up massively. People are more on their toes and you know if you don`t work hard you`re out.`

We`ve heard Steve Evans say, on a number of occasions, that if a player doesn't show him he can work hard then he`ll be sat with him on the bench for the season - he recently said it about Michael O'Connor and also Laurie Wilson - and he doesn't seem to be one who goes back on his word.

'The gaffer knows you will have a bad game,` Revs carried on, 'but he can`t knock you if you work hard.`

Revs has made thirteen appearances for the Millers this season and has scored three goals - this time last season he`d played eighteen games (six for Leyton Orient) and scored four goals - two on his debut for the Millers in front of the cameras at Swindon. Personally, I`d like to see more balls to his feet than trying to get them always to his head because he has been making some good runs into the box but, to me, not getting an awful lot of service.
