RUFC - If Needed Mullins Would Be Back

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says that, if needed, he would have no hesitation in recalling midfielder Johnny Mullins.

The Millers have a few players injured including Craig Morgan who limped of with an ankle injury after a few minutes at Dagenham last Saturday and it could be that the players available will be scraping the barrel.

Twenty-seven year old Mullins featured in just for matches for the Millers this season before being sent out on loan to Oxford, where he's scored one goal in six appearances and has twice made it into the Npower League Two Team of the week.

Speaking to MillersPlayer about options for the injured players, the Millers boss said, 'We've got a few options. We can bring players in, utilise what we've got here or re-call Johnny Mullins and we certainly won't be going into Saturday's game without a recognised centre-back.

'Johnny Mullins is a Rotherham United player and I wouldn't have a minute's hesitation in re-calling him if it's what we need to do. He's a honest, whole hearted lad and we've watched him in every game he's played at Oxford and he's done well. So, it is an option but there are other options as well.

'When Johnny was here he was knocking on my door every day asking to play. He wants first team football and we understand that. But we have to do what's right for Rotherham United and if someone comes in and they play particularly well then Craig will be sitting and watching. If you deserve to keep the shirt then you keep it.'

Personally, I'd love to see Mullins back - but I'd also want him to play and not be sat on the bench biding his time. Arguably Morgan has been one of our better players over the last few months so, except for injury, who would you drop for Mullins?
