RUFC - Kayode Sorry For Fans
Rotherham United striker Kayode Odejayi says that the players let everyone associated with the club, including the three hundred travelling supporters, down last Saturday at Dagenham but says that it`s now something they have to get out of their system.
Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser the thirty-year old said, 'I feel for the supporters. They travelled a long way and paid their money and didn't want to see that. We`re all hurting and we felt bad for everyone connected to Rotherham United.
'It wasn't good enough by any stretch of the imagination. We can`t have a repeat of that performance and we have to get back to winning ways.
'We`d had a good run of form but anyone who has been involved with this game knows that football has a way of kicking you in the teeth. Now it`s about how we react.`
And the tall Nigerian will want to react well tomorrow against one of his former clubs Cheltenham Town who make their first visit to New York. Big K signed for the Chairboys from Forest Green in the summer of 2003 and played around one hundred and twenty games for them bagging fifty-five goals on the way.
He`s not been the prolific goalscorer that the Millers were probably expecting since joining in the summer getting just two in seventeen appearances, although some of his crossing in the early games of the season was worth a goal in itself.
Maybe, just maybe, it`s time for him to get his first ever hat-trick? And when better than at home against a former club?
