RUFC - Warney Wants Celebration Game

Vital Rotherham on: facebook

Rotherham United coach Paul Warne might have to actually play two teams in his up and coming testimonial in the summer - because every time he thinks of someone he`d like to play in the game he thinks of another two as well!

Warney who has been with the Millers - on and off - since 1999 and has done practically every job under the sun has rightly been granted a testimonial and the thirty-nine year old wants his celebration game to include former team mates and managers.

'I want to put on a really good game that everyone wants to come to,` he told David Beddows of The Advertiser. 'I want to have a legends team that includes the likes of Alan Lee, Mike Pollitt, Stewart Talbot, Chris Swailes, Kevin Watson - people who I enjoyed the promotions with. I want to get Ronnie Moore and John Breckin back; Mark Robins and Alan Knill and other who have played a big part in my career like Steve Thompson.

'The trouble is I keep thinking of new names daily!`

The opposition has yet to be decided but, whoever it is, I am positive there will be a big turn out for the Rotherham stalwart with Millers fans wanting to show how much he`s meant to them over the years - and still does.
