'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Latest Loanee Hopes To Play Tomorrow

Rotherham United have strengthened their side by signing Aston Villa youngster Courtney Cameron on loan until January.

Courtney, who can play on either wing, is pleased to be getting a chance of first team football and said, 'It's a new stadium and nice people and I can't wait to get started.

Speaking to MillersPlayer Courtney said, 'I've been playing in the Under 21's league and I knew a few clubs had been after me and my agent got a call from Steve Evans who I spoke to and he seems really nice.'

After playing in an eleven-a-side training game he said, 'It was good but for the first ten minutes I was just easing myself into it but by the end I thought I'd done well and hopefully I'll be in the managers thoughts for Saturday's game. It's a great stadium and hopefully I will be involved tomorrow.

'The training here is a lot different than at Aston Villa with the tempo a lot quicker.

This is Courtney's first loan spell and he said that Gordon Cowan's, who is the development coach with Aston Villa, told him to have this spell on loan. 'It's fantastic working with Gordon Cowan,' Courtney said, 'he's a great one-to-one manager and he's given me good advice.'

Speaking about his background, Courtney said, 'I played for Northampton from the age of seven until I was sixteen when I moved to Aston Villa where I've been for two and a half to three years. I'm usually a wide man but I can play left-back or on either wing but I do like to stay wide and provide for the strikers.'
