'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Evans 'Down' Over Injuries

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says it's a long time since he's felt as down as he has tonight due to football.

Speaking after tonight's loss at home to Wycombe Wanderers the Millers Boss spoke about the three extra injuries that his side picked up tonight to go with the half a dozen or so already out injured.

'We're already depleted and then we bring Lee Frecklington off and Josh Morris is carried off and Alex Revell goes off sick so we'll have to wake up tomorrow and try and get one or two bodies in because I don't know if we'll have enough in for Saturday.

'Frecklington suffered with a back injury on Saturday but he trained fine yesterday and said he was OK until around the fortieth minute when he got a challenge in his back and it went into spasm so we took him off and he's in a lot of discomfort.

'We were going to extend his loan but now we need to look at the situation in the morning. Lee was desperate to stay and Peterborough were fine about it so let's hope it's nothing more serious than a back spasm.

'Josh Morris will have to have scans and x-rays before we know how bad he is.

'I've never been as down in a long time in football. I can palate getting beat and I can palate the result but when I look at the horrendous injury situation, well I said on Sunday I felt like crying, and tonight there's another three.'

I think we all visibly groaned as we saw the players go off injured one by one tonight and I don't know who Steve Evans will play at Exeter on Saturday as we are down to the bare bones.

We only have until Thursday to get loan players and then it will only be on restricted loans.
