RUFC - Evans On Mullins Return

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans has recalled defender Johnny Mullins as the Millers injury crisis goes from bad to worse.

With Dale Tonge and Kari Arnason already on the treatment table the defence became even more depleted last night when loanees Lee Frecklington and Josh Morris had to go off - Morris on a stretcher.

Evans thought he'd captured a Championship central defender on Monday only for the deal to fall through when the said player was himself injured in a training game.

Speaking to the Official Site, the Millers Boss said, 'Given the alarming and unprecedented injury crisis which it has to be said seems to be never abating, following my meeting this morning with the chairman Tony Stewart, I have had sanctioned by the Chairman, a number of proposals which include the immediate recalling of Johnny Mulls from Oxford.

'I'm still involved in talks with a few clubs to bring players in that will go some way to help with the injury situation we`re experiencing, which has to be said, is at emergency level.'

Personally with playing people out of position last night I really think Mullins should have been recalled on Monday - so, I for one, will be pleased to see him back in a Rotherham shirt this coming weekend.
