RUFC - Evans 'Ref Was Right To Call Game Off'

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says that the referee was right to call off tonight's game at Meadow Lane.

With the players already there and the fans well on their way to Meadow Lane where the Millers were to take on Notts County in the replay FA Cup game, a decision was made by referee Darren Deadman to call the game off at 6.15pm because of players' safety.

'We got here and the referee has said on the basis of the players` safety, the first twenty-five yards from the main stand in are hard, solid, icy and dangerous ,' the Millers Boss told the Official Site. 'He's one hundred per cent right and the critique, if any, is could the decision have been made earlier.'

Unofficially the game is expected to go ahead next Tuesday - this will be confirmed tomorrow.
