RUFC - Striker Questions Postponed Game Timing

Rotherham United striker Alex Revell has questioned the timing of the referee`s decision to call off the game at Meadow Lane last night.

The Millers and Notts County were due to go head-to-head to decide who would play Aldershot in the third round of the FA Cup yesterday evening with the team already having arrived at the ground when Referee Darren Deadman took the decision to call off the game for 'players safety`.

I don`t think anyone was questioning the decision to call off the game but the timing with Manager Steve Evans believing it could have been called off earlier - maybe stopped the travelling fans a second fruitless journey of the season - the first being a trip to Accrington earlier in the season when fans were in the ground before the referee took the decision to call off the game due to a waterlogged pitch.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star Revell said, 'The floor was softer in the changing room than on the pitch. Could have been called off hours ago. Very annoying.`

The game is scheduled to go ahead next Tuesday - let`s hope the weather improves.
