RUFC - Good Subs By Evans Today

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans had nothing but praise for his substitutes today.

Courtney Cameron was introduced for Ben Pringle ten minutes into the second half, followed soon afterwards by goalscorer Kieran Agard, on for Michael O`Connor. Kayode Odejayi came on for Daniel Nardiello for the last five minutes.

Speaking after the one-nil win away at Wimbledon the Millers Boss said, 'I think Kieran Agard scratches his head and wonders, injuries apart, what he has to do to get in the side. We think the world of Courtney Cameron and we know he`s going to play at a much higher level. And, although he wasn't on long, I thought Kayode looked more like his old self.`

Asked by Radio Sheffield what he saw of the goal, Evans said, 'I saw a fantastic header from Kieran and a goalkeeper who thought the ball was possibly going wide but I don`t know if that`s completely right from the angle we are at.

'What people should see is that as we`ve built the play down the left young Kieran Agard has made seventy yards up to be in the box. The whole dressing room is delighted for him. He`s extremely fit, hard working and he`s got a massive heart for the game.`

I thought the game looked a lot quicker when Cameron and Agard came on and it also brought Lee Frecklington more into the game too. Great substitutions by the Millers Boss who says the team will be in training tomorrow to get ready for the FA Cup replay against Notts County on Tuesday. With Ian Sharps picking up his fifth booking today and Liam Ridehalgh not able to play, there will be at least two changes to the eleven that started today.
