RUFC - Evans 'No-one Disappointed'

Join The Vital Debate

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans said there wasn't one player who disappointed tonight as the Millers march on into the third round of the FA Cup.

Ben Pringle opened the scoring for the Millers at Meadow Lane with a cracker of a goal with Evans telling Radio Sheffield, 'It was a great strike. He was poor on Saturday and we took him off though we also took him off in a view for having him fresh for tonight.

'He`s hit one or two games that fell slightly below where his standards are but his standards are high and although I thought he did well tonight I think there were six or seven better than him.

'How good was Arnason tonight? He`s pulled balls on his chest, he`s hit diagonal passes and I thought he was outstanding. And so was Johnny Mullins and Jack O'Connell's parents were watching him tonight and will go home proud to Merseyside but the whole team were outstanding, there isn't a player who`s disappointed.

'But I won`t be starting with that eleven at Bristol Rovers. We are going to freshen it up. There are tired men in that dressing room but that`s what the squad`s for.`

I can't agree more. It's going to be difficult picking a Man of the Match for this one. It was a complete team effort tonight - some of the passing and football was first rate and I really felt we could have gone out and beaten anyone.
