RUFC - Frecks Wants Plenty Of Christmas Cheer

Rotherham United are set to lose midfielder Lee Frecklington in the new year when he loan is up and he returns to Peterborough.

We do know that our Chairman Tony Stewart and Posh Director of Football Barry Fry have been in talks about the twenty-seven year old who has made himself a favourite among the fans, but with Millers Manager Steve Evans saying in the press this week that he has 'someone in mind` to replace Frecks, then it makes me think that there is a stumbling block somewhere.

Before his future is decided, Frecks told David Beddows of The Advertiser that he wants to help the Millers get plenty of points over the Christmas and New Year period.

'We have a lot of matches in a short space of time,` the former Lincoln City player said, 'and if we can get as many points as we can it will set us up nicely for the back end of the season.`

With the 'we` and 'us` it seems that Lee isn't really thinking about moving away from New York yet. So, with negotiations set to resume shortly about his future he obviously hasn't given up the idea of becoming a permanent Miller.

The problem is, if he goes back to Peterborough I don`t think he will be staying there and it could be he goes out on loan to another League Two club which, personally, I think would be a travesty.

I, for one, hope something can be sorted between the clubs, the midfielder and, I presume, his agent - I`d like to see him wearing a Millers shirt far into the future.
