'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Rovers Disappointed Game Off

Rotherham United were more than disappointed that they'd travelled all the way down to Bristol only for the game to be called off just before mid-day today but also disappointed was John Ward who was about to take charge of his first game as Rovers Manager this afternoon.

Speaking to Bristol Rovers Player, Ward, who is in his second spell with the Gas said, 'We were hoping that we'd get seven thousand, probably more, here today and I've had two good days working with the team. I'd got the line-up together and I was looking forward to see how it went today. I had a real nice feeling coming away from the training ground on Friday that the team were ready to go.

'It's tough and everyone would have been high and ready to go.'

Rovers' Chairman Nick Higgs said, 'We are all devastated that today's game has been called off, we were all looking forward to the return of John Ward and we were expecting a big crowd to welcome him back to Bristol Rovers.'
