RUFC - Evans Not Bothered If Revs Never Scores

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says if striker Alex Revell never scores again he won't mind as long as he keeps playing like he has been lately.

Revs has been involved in twenty-two games this season but has only managed to find the net three times - but it hasn't been for lack of trying.

The twenty-nine year old joined the Millers on the final day of the transfer window in August last year and opened his scoring in his first game with two brilliantly headed goals against Swindon Town in front of the Television cameras. Over the season he found the net another nine times but it took him six games to get a goal this season. But the former Orient forward has been literally playing his socks off and he has worked very well recently with Daniel Nardiello.

Speaking to The Star the Millers Boss said, 'The best testament to Alex Revell is the fact that he is keeping Kayode Odejayi out of the team. That`s a message we want to send, that there is competition for places and if you do well then you can earn the shirt and keep it. And, I don't care if he never scores if he keeps playing like he has been. Perhaps everybody expected Kayode to be the regular but Alex Revell has taken it from him and kept it.'
