'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View From The Opposition - Rochdale

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans was delighted with his team`s win away to Rochdale yesterday saying it was a 'deserved three points.`

Dale Manager John Coleman wasn`t as happy at losing after going one-up in the first half.

Speaking after the Millers two-one win, Coleman told Dale Player, 'I`m disappointed in the fact that we let them bully us in the second half. We know what they are all about, we know they`re a long ball team and are very physical and that`s won them the game today.

'At times it was attack verses defence without really putting us under extreme pressure but eventually, if the ball`s bouncing around your box long enough, they`re going to get chances.

'Give them their due, they pinned us in and committed men forward and they started to play. On a day like today it was probably effective. Whether you`d want to watch that every week is debatable but it got them the result today and there`s about twelve hundred fans going back to Yorkshire very happy.

'I thought the referee was really strong today apart from the last fifteen minutes when he seemed loath to give fouls which played right into their hands.`

Now come on Mr Coleman - we might be physical but your players fell down if one of our players breathed on him! And it wasn`t our players pushing forwards in the back every time they jumped for a ball.

Shades of discontent from him but you did what you needed to to win.
