RUFC - Kearns Hopes To Play On Wing

Rotherham United's latest loanee Danny Kearns thinks that he has made the right decision in moving to the New York Stadium.

Danny, who has joined provisionally until the end of the season from Peterborough has also been on loan with York City this season where he appeared twelve times.

Speaking to MillersPlayer ahead of the game against Barnet at the New York Stadium tomorrow, the twenty-one year old said, 'I went back to Peterborough from my loan spell with York, and when I heard that Steve (Evans) was interested in me then I was interested in meeting him and hearing what he had to say. I met Steve a few weeks ago and I thought it was all done and dusted then I heard that other clubs were interested too so I just sit back and let it happen and I'm happy enough it's all done now and that I'm here.'

Asked what he thinks he will bring to the Millers, Danny said, 'I hope I'll be playing on the wing. At Peterborough we never really played with wingers and the only times I was used I was in the middle or round the back but I think I'm more natural on the wing. I like to take people on, get at people and make things happen. I'm naturally right-footed but have had experience on both wings so I'm comfortable on either.'

So, although everything you see about this young man says he is a midfielder, he actually plays on the wing. So I'm guessing that he will be putting balls into the box for Adam Morgan to nod in the goal?
