RUFC - Evans Will Welcome Legend To New York

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans will welcome a Dutch legend to the New York Stadium this afternoon when Edgar Davids takes his place in the away dugout.

Davids, more used to playing at the Amsterdam Arena and the Stadio delle Alpi, has recently been plying his trade at the Underhill Stadium, after becoming Barnet`s player/coach.

After a shoulder injury the thirty-nine year old is again fit and, as well as shouting orders from the bench, could well play some part in this afternoon`s game.

Speaking to The Yorkshire Post the Millers Boss said of Davids, ' I've never met the man but he`s a household name in football and after the game we`ll have a glass of wine together. He`s one of the guys I've paid to see when he came to London with clubs. For me, he was one of the world`s best and his range of passing was unbelievable - and although he`s scored in all manner of wonderful stadium I`m not sure he`s scored at Alloa!`
