RUFC - Evans 'So Bad Defensively It's Frightening'

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans apologised to the Millers supporters after they'd seen their team slip to a two-nil defeat at home to Barnet.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the loss at the New York Stadium the Millers Boss said, 'The first fifteen minutes was passionate and then we have defensive calamity between John Mullins and Andy Warrington and they score a goal though to be fair to Woggy he made some good saves in the second half.

'They got themselves in front then they kill the game and slow it down and we work hard but miss a number of half chances. In the second half they counter-attack us and I think I'm right in saying they've had four shots at goal.

'I thought we started as bright as we have done for a few weeks. We moved it wide, got crosses in, moved it around but you have to score when you're in dominance like that. You just can not give the goals away that we've given away today. Both goals were just calamities and we were so bad defensively it's frightening.

''But we've had a lot of possession but we were very poor today and I can only apologise to our supporters who will go home disappointed although no more disappointed than the manager.'
