Rotherham United Assistant Manager Paul Raynor says, despite the inclement weather, that the squad have had a decent weeks training ahead of the journey down to Oxford at the weekend.
'Credit must go to our ground staff, the two Daves, who have worked hard to get us on grass this week and we can't thank them enough.
Speaking to MillersPlayer earlier today, Raynes said there was no new knocks but it would be a big boost to have Kari Arnason back in the squad.
Kari wasn't available for the game on Saturday as he was serving a one game suspension after getting two yellow cards at Aldershot. With Manager Steve Evans saying that if 'Arnie is available, Arnie will play' it seems a fair assumption that he'll start at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.
'He's a big miss,' Raynes said. 'When Arnie doesn't play we seem to come unstuck. He's been a tremendous acquisition and he's a big player for us and when he's not around we certainly miss him.'
Saying they'd been speaking about the Barnet game all week, Paul said hindsight was a wonderful thing but they would be looking at it again. 'We've ripped up about a thousand formations with a thousand bits of paper with different players in different areas. We've got a clear thought in our mind of how we want to go and there could well be some changes.
'You want a strong squad and you want people knocking on the door and waiting for an opportunity to show what they can do like Danny Kearns and Adam Morgan who are hungry to pull on the shirt.'
I've just read in the Rotherham Record that Evans says he could make ten or eleven changes from the team who lost at home to Barnet for Saturday's visit to Oxford. Well, it's all very well this chopping and changing of staff but I'm not so sure it works. It was only at the start of the season we were all bemoaning the fact that we couldn't get a settled back four due to International call-ups, injuries and suspensions - and to be swapping players around all the time doesn't seem to be the way to go to me.
