RUFC - Millers Ask U's For Early Decision

Rotherham United are hoping for an early decision should tomorrow`s game with Oxford United fall foul of the weather.

Having already made three fruitless trips where games have been called off late - two very late - Millers Chief Operating Officer Paul Douglas has been in communication with the people at the Kassam Stadium regarding the weather.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser Mr Douglas said, 'I have spoken to Oxford to outline the sensitivity of the issue for us and asked them to consider our travel plans. I know the people there and they are very capable.

'Like ourselves, they want the game to go ahead but they are also aware that any concerns are brought to people`s attention and that the referee is made aware so a call can be made as soon as possible.`

The ground staff at Oxford have had the pitch covered since late Wednesday and, at that time the pitch was deemed playable but there is the prediction of snow down there for today and tomorrow.

We've had our own weather man down in the Oxford area Michael 'Dazza' Fish who wasn't at all hopeful at the start of the week but seemed to think things were looking a little better yesterday but this morning's update at 7am was - just started snowing and not expected to stop until tomorrow

Let`s hope we get a decision sooner rather than later on this one.
