RUFC - Evans Asks Fans To Help Get Striker

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans asked local radio station Radio Sheffield`s Football Heaven to help him get some names of strikers the fans want at the club.

He put out the challenge last night for Millers fans to give him names and they certainly did - as did fans of other local sides - saying 'If there`s a young striker out there somewhere about twenty-one years of age, who we can get for £250,000 and he`s got re-saleable value then we`ll take him and my invitation going out there is that I`ll listen to all suggestions.`

Such names as Adebayo Akinfenwa, Ashley Grimes, Marlon Harewood were pushed out there as well as a couple of players from non-league and he did get in touch after most of the names suggested there saying why he didn't go after the player.

Steve also said that the club are expanding their scouting network into Europe, saying 'We`re putting an infrastructure in place and we`re talking near-Europe - such as France and Germany. You have to tap into all possibilities.`

If you've got anyone in mind that you think would fit into the category Steve has said then I`m sure he`ll be happy to hear from you.
