'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View From The Opposition - Bristol Rovers

While Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says his team were never in the game on Saturday and blames individual errors for losing three-one, Bristol Rovers Manager John Ward can't have been anything but pleased with the three points.

Speaking to Radio Bristol Rovers Manager said, 'They came at us really strongly in the first twenty minutes but we came through it without a dent and did it pretty well. They still had a lot of the ball but it changed with the penalty and the sending off.

'We were able to use the bit of space with their man going off and we decided to stay with our shape because it was hard to break down and we scored two super goals.

'We had to be dogged and strong and win by not over passing in the middle of the pitch because that's where Rotherham are very strong. They have an excellent centre-forward and a lot of back-up play and we had a lot of work to do but we had a discipline about the team to which they responded very well.'
