RUFC - Robins Surprised To Get Jaybo

Rotherham United told midfielder Jason Taylor that he wasn't needed any more and yesterday he signed a two-and-a-half year deal with fellow League Two side Cheltenham Town.

Robins Manager Mark Yates was surprised to get the chance to fetch Taylor in and said, 'We were fairly surprised when he was put our way but we are delighted to have signed Jason. He is a leader, a winner and he will add something extra to our already talented midfield.'

And the twenty-six year old today midfielder himself told Robins Player, 'I'm very happy to be here. I met Mark (Yates) last week and he sold the club to me. There were a few other clubs sniffing about but I felt this was the right option for me and in the end it was a no brainer for me to move here.'

Asked why he was moving away from Rotherham, Jaybo said, 'I was told I wasn't wanted there any more and as soon as I knew that it was in my best interest to leave as soon as possible.

'I've played the last fifteen or so games on the spin so I am fully fit.'

It is likely that Jaybo will be in the Cheltenham squad to play Torquay at the weekend but there has been a 'gentleman's agreement' between the Millers and the Robins that he won't feature against Rotherham later in the season.
