'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - New York Stadium Up For Award

Rotherham United`s New York Stadium has been nominated for Stadium of the Year by StadiumDB.com which is a Data Base of Football Stadiums based in Poland.

There are sixteen nominees, all of which opened last year, with just two being from England, one being the NYS and the other being the Olympic Stadium in London.

The other stadiums up for the vote are
Stadion Narodowy
Independência
BBVA Compass Stadium
Incheon Football Stadium
Stade Océane
Sparda-Bank-Hessen-Stadion
Grand Stade Lille
Myresjöhus Arena
Bunyodkor Stadioni
Bakcell Arena
Netanya Stadium
Friends Arena
Arena do Grêmio
Stadion Utama Riau

Speaking about the New York Stadium, 'Stadium of the Year 2012` organiser Grzegorz Kaliciak said, 'It`s smaller than some other nominees, it`s cheaper, but it`s still very elegant and seems to have really good value for money. And it`s a lot more of a proper football stadium than some others as well. That`s why we decided to list it. What I personally find very distinctive is the roof design, making it stand out among other new venues of this size.`

So let`s get 'our` stadium up there shall we - let`s get it noticed and get voting!
