RUFC - Kari Says Preparation Gone Well This Week

Rotherham United midfielder is looking forward to tomorrow`s game against Chesterfield and told MillersPlayer that the preparation was going fine.

'We had the day off after the Torquay game but preparations have been good and I think we are up there and if we play to our level then we should be able to win.
That goes for every game in this league but unfortunately we haven`t done that which is why we are where we are.

'We need to focus on ourselves and we`ve done what we usually do in training and we should be ready for this game.

Speaking about the game at Plainmoor, the Icelandic International said, 'What really matters is the result and not how we played. I thought we did OK at times but it was a massive result.`

Kari moved into what we Millers fans have always thought is his favourite, and best, position of midfield on Tuesday and he said, 'There`s more freedom to my game in midfield but I just try to do a good job for the team and I haven`t been doing that the last couple of weeks so it was good for me personally to be pushed in there and try to re-establish myself and get going in the way I can. I need some consistency in my game because I`ve been quite bad lately.

'It`s a long time since we strung a few wins together and that`s exactly what we need now and hopefully Tuesday was the first game of a string of victories.`

I think when Kari came to Rotherham we - including the management - were expecting big things from him and I do wonder if a lot was put on his shoulders. Steve Evans has always said if Kari is fit then he plays and I know I've said it myself, when he`s not been in the team due to international call-up, injury or suspension, we`ve missed Arni. I've also heard people have a bit of a moan at the thirty year old when he`s made a mistake which started as a mumble amongst others to actually shouting at the player down on the pitch. I can understand fans frustration, blimey, I've moaned myself, but actually shouting at a player probably isn't going to do his confidence any good is it? So let`s all get behind him and the rest of the lads tomorrow.
