RUFC - Warney 'Coaching Is Stressful'

Rotherham United`s Development Coach Paul Warne admits that coaching is a lot more stressful than playing.

Speaking to Dom Howson of The Star the thirty-nine year old, who is working with players from the Youth squad and Reserves as well as the First Team, said, 'Coaching is ridiculously stressful and takes a lot more of a mental strain and you are always trying to think of ways of improving the squad.

'When you are a player, if you lose, you are disappointed but you can go away and think 'I will put it right in training or in the next game` but when you are solely a member of staff you go home and think 'could we have done something different`.`

Warney isn`t new to coaching having stepped into the breach when Andy Scott and Ronnie Moore left the club although he always said it wasn`t the job for him.

He`s going to have a busy time in the next few months having been granted a testimonial by the club the former midfielder, who played around three hundred times for the Millers, is having his football game on the 30th April. He is also having a golf day, a testimonial dinner and various local pub evenings.
