RUFC - Evans 'Morgan A Big Player For Us'

Rotherham United defender Craig Morgan is getting match fit after a foot injury that has kept him out of the first team since November.

Last week the twenty-seven year old played sixty minutes in a reserve game and yesterday he managed seventy minutes.

But, we've all seen that Johnny Mullins and Craig Davis seem to have forged a strong partnership together over the last few games and I think some of the fans are wondering if there's room for Craig in the team?

Speaking to MillersPlayer Millers Boss Steve Evans said that Craig is now ready to play ninety minutes. After watching him in both Reserve games and in training, Evans said, 'His movement is a lot better but we want to make sure we are one hundred per cent right with him.

'But when you see Johnny Mullins and Claude Davis playing as they are we are less desperate to get Craig back. But Morgs is a big player for us and he'll be a big player in this run-in and we want Craig Morgan back for most of that.

'If he's not in the first team before the next Reserve game then he'll play ninety minutes in that but there may be a call for him to play sixty or seventy minutes in the first team. He's a top player.'
