RUFC - Evans 'Goals Change Games'

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans said it was a 'great night` after watching his side beat Oxford four-nil.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the win at the Kassam Stadium last night, the Millers Boss said, 'I don`t think there was much in the game in the first fifteen minutes but goals change games. We identified the system they played and we changed it tactically and it helped us win.

'I was pleased when we switched the game nice and wide and we went with almost three up front and it left Michael Duberry one-on-one with Alex Revell and I think we all can see who won that battle.

'I think everyone knows we are an attack minded side and at times I think we could be criticised by being too attacking but fortunately we`ve got a lot of positive players on the pitch.

'I think they were unfortunate with the first goal, it was a deflection, but these things happen but there was no fortune with the three other goals. We`ve ripped them open. And that`s a good Oxford side. The Oxford fans will go home disappointed tonight but I don`t think they had many chances. They had one in the first half at nil-nil

'I thought it was a real solid industrious win and it`s a good three points for us. We`ve come here tonight and we`ve been really professional.`

It was a team effort where every player played for one another, helped one another out and from the start you felt they were up for it last night.
